According to a recent report from AS, Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey will not be allowed to leave Atletico Madrid during the upcoming summer transfer window. There was believed to be interest in the 25 year old from a series of different clubs last week, including a few from the Premier League. However, Diego Simeone considers him to be one of the vital members of his first team line-up, which is why a sale seems unlikely in the next few months.
Partey has been on the books with Atletico since back in 2011, when he joined their youth setup. He has also been making great strides on the international scene since back in 2016, when he made his debut for his native country Ghana.
Partey’s presence as a defensive midfield maestro has certainly been key for Atletico in the last few years, and given his age, it seems smart for them to want to avoid selling him.
